Study: Interest in Content Management On The Rise

 20th June, 2009 In the past week or so, GM killed Pontiac, panic over swine flu began to build, and more bad news about home prices emerged. Not good stuff for the economy, all in all. But content management experts still appear to be in the clear, as yet another study has said interest in this field is on track to increase.

Last time, it was the Aberdeen Group that provided some reassurances. This time, we have Forrester Research to thank. Forrester talked to a whopping 261 IT managers to find out how they're feeling about content management.

As for how things turned out, Chris Kanaracus reported, "Seventy-two percent of the survey's 261 respondents said they planned to increase WCM deployments or usage this year . . . . Nineteen percent said their implementations would remain the same, and just 3 percent planned to cut back."

So the industry as a whole shouldn't lose much business. And sharp individuals may be able to attract some. Kanaracus wrote, "Thirty-two percent of respondents said they were either dissatisfied or very dissatisfied with their implementation," which leaves quite an opening for savvy professionals to get new clients.

Content management experts may have a leg up on the rest of the population, then. Just consider using hand sanitizer after sealing new deals to stay ahead of the swine flu thing.
